Located in the department of El Quiché, "Chichi" is famous for its market, which surrounds the Santo Tomás Church, the heart of the village. This market is open only on Thursdays and Sundays. In this market you can find everything from fruits, vegetables, and an incredible variety of handicrafts, textiles, incense among other supplies. You can also witness beautiful native women wearing beautiful "Güipiles" (local native shirts worn by females). In this region you will notice a very distinctive Mayan influence in Catholicism, result of Spanish Conquers.
